Chakravarthy B. Reddy, MD, is our Clinical Consultant.
Dr. Reddy is a Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator, pulmonologist, and professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is uniquely trained in intensive care and exceptionally knowledgeable about lung cancers, airway disorders, malignant pleural effusion and the treatments thereof. He is motivated to spearhead the development and adoption of methods and technologies that non-surgically diagnose and treat cancers of the chest. Dr. Reddy routinely performs bronchoscopy procedures, pleuroscopy, endobronchial ultrasonography, and airway stent placement.
Dr. Reddy is involved with multiple companies developing innovative technologies that improve patient care, patient outcomes, and clinician experience in hospitals and clinics. For example, Dr. Reddy is a co-inventor of the ReddyPort NIV Elbow which enables oral care to be administered to patients on NIV. This helps to prevent hospital-acquired infections and improve patient comfort. He currently serves on their board and is their Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Reddy attended Mysore Medical College in Mysore, Karnataka, India. He completed an internship and residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York, where he also served as attending physician. He also completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine and received additional training in interventional pulmonology medicine at Harvard Medical School.
